Uncoatedboard
Specifications
  • Uncoated paper is used everyday for general office printing, newspaper and book printing. Uncoated papers are better for writing on and reading from. They have a matt finish and are available with lots of different textures. Heavier weights of uncoated papers are also available for use on business cards etc. Uncoated papers are more porous than coated papers, this means that ink tends to seep into the fibres of the paper. Colours will appear differently when printed on uncoated versus coated papers. Most recycled paper is uncoated.

Bristol
Specifications
  • Bristol board (also referred to as Bristol paper or Super white paper) is an uncoated, machine-finished paperboard. It is named after the city of Bristol in the southwest of England. Common sizes include 22.5" × 28.5" (572 × 724 mm) and its bulk thickness is .006 inches (0.15 mm) or higher and A4, A3, A2 and A1[2][3] Bristol board may be rated by the number of plies it contains or, in Europe, by its grammage of 220 to 250. It is normally white, but is also made in different colours.

Manila
Specifications
  • Manila paper is a relatively inexpensive type of paper, generally made through a less refined process than other types of paper. It is typically made from semi-bleached wood fibres. It is not as strong as kraft paper but has better printing qualities. Manila is buff-coloured and the fibres are usually visible to the naked eye. Because this paper is generally inexpensive, it is commonly given to children for making child art. Manila paper was originally manufactured in the Philippines, hence the name. It was made from Manila hemp or abaca.

Test-Liner
Specifications
  • Containerboard, also referred to as CCM or corrugated case material, is a type of paperboard specially manufactured for the production of corrugated board. The term encompasses both linerboard and corrugating medium (or fluting), the two types of paper that make up corrugated board. Since containerboard is made mainly out of natural unbleached wood fibers, it is generally brown, although its shade may vary depending on the type of wood, pulping process, recycling rate and impurities content.

Fluting
Specifications
  • The fluting in corrugated board is the wavy paper between the liners. In the case of a single wall board, there will only be one fluting layer, while in the case of double wall board, there will be two flutes. The fluting is an important component of corrugated board. Its “wavy” shape provides high compression resistance and strength characteristics to the corrugated board – making it the secret ingredient in the strength corrugated board.
